Choosing flowers for a funeral is rarely an easy decision. It’s often done in grief, sometimes under time pressure, and always with the hope of getting it right.

We are Blomsterringen. We have two flower shops in Stockholm — one in Ringen Centrum on Södermalm and one in Västermalmsgallerian on Kungsholmen. The business has been in the family since the 1990s, and has operated under the name Blomsterringen since 2008. Everything we sell is made by hand in the shops, and we’re here to help you find something that feels right for this particular funeral.

A team of florists with different styles

Range is one of our strengths. We are several florists working in the shops, each with our own approach — some work in a more classical style, others in a more natural, wild-grown direction, others again with strong seasonal expressions. When you place an order with us, we try to match the right florist to your particular request.

For funeral flowers in Stockholm we have one florist with primary responsibility for wreaths, casket arrangements and sympathy work. The person who takes your order isn’t always the one who creates the arrangement — we make a judgement about who is best suited. If you’d prefer the same person who took your order to also make it, just let us know — that’s usually possible.

Everything is made by hand in one of our shops. We also write the ribbons ourselves, in the shops — never through a third party.

How it works

The more time we have, the more we can do. If you have a week or two to think it through, we can discuss colour palette, style, specific flower varieties, and adapt the arrangement to the person who has passed or the tone of the ceremony.

If it’s short notice — which happens often — we’ll help you. In that case we work from what we already have in the shops, focusing on feeling and colour rather than specific flowers. Specially ordered flower varieties take time to arrive, but the most beautiful seasonal flowers are usually already here. We’ll tell you clearly what’s possible so you know what you’re getting.

Delivery to church or chapel

We work with a courier service that has long experience of funeral deliveries — someone who knows to arrive in good time, handle the flowers carefully, and find the right person on site. Flowers are in place at least one hour before the ceremony.
